Canadian Immigration Services Abroad affected by Foreign Service Officer Strike

July 18, 2013:

Relocations and global assignments into Canada are likely to be affected by strike action at multiple visa offices abroad as a result of unsuccessful labour negotiations between Canada’s Professional Association of Foreign Services Officers (“PAFSO”) and the Canadian Government.

Strikes are currently impacting both permanent and temporary immigration services at the following location offices: Chandigarh, Moscow, Mexico City, London and New Delhi

Manila, Beijing, Jakarta, Shanghai, and Hong Kong offices may also be experiencing labour issues.

When filing applications at the affected visa offices; clients should expect processing delays. It is likely that applications which have already been filed and are pending processing will also be impacted.

All Points advises our clients to begin immigration processes as soon as possible in order to avoid delays starting global assignments as a result of extended processing times.
